Venus, Neptune and 'The Deep Float'.

Venus conjuncts Neptune in Aries, Mars moves out of retrograde shadow and Pluto stations direct.

This last weekend has felt like floating in a warm pool of acceptance and self love.

The coming together of Venus (earthly love) and her higher octave Neptune (divine spiritual love) happens about once a year, taking place next at exactly the same degree of 1 degree of Aries on March 7 2026.

For this conjunction to occur at 1 degree of Aries is truly magical. This degree is the very beginning of the archetypal Hero’s Astrological Journey. A place of innocence, trust and the deep surrender of recently sacrificing the Self to the Piscean dream.

I call it ‘The Deep Float’. For a few moments at a time, just with awareness and gentle breathing, I dissolve my sense of self and blend with a ‘universal intelligence’ for want of a better term. An experience of interconnectednesswith everything. Here I’m able to audition new neural pathways of philosophy, thought and movement.

I wish that this great dissolve into ecstasy could go on and on forever.

Interpersonal planets like Neptune spend approximately half the year in retrograde. In a few weeks Neptune will return to Pisces and wallow a little longer in preparation for a life changing conjunction with Saturn that is due to drop next January. As chance would have it, once again at 1 degree of Aries.

It’s a huge reset and we are cusping, in the birthing canal, right now.

Our responsibilities have not disappeared, although it may be possible to put them aside for a few delicious days.

As a community, surely our challenge is to hold our feelings of perfect interconnectedness, and integrate them with the real world. With war, poverty, fear, places of incarceration, acting out, insensitivity, judgment, shame, guilt, homophobia, misogyny, racism, elitism...

Is it really ‘The Deep Float’ if we filter out the lived experience of at least half of the Earths population?

Pluto stations retrograde opposite the Moon & Mars.

After an opposition to Mars on April 27^th Pluto stationed at 3.49 degrees of Aquarius while opposing a Moon / Mars conjunction in Leo. Pluto, who is also retrograde for half the year every year, will remain so until the second week of October beginning in the early hours of Monday morning, March 5^th NZT.

Those Pluto stations can be intense times, especially one that kicks off opposite the Moon and Mars.

If you find yourself succumbing to expressions of your patterned reactive ‘unevolved’ emotional patterns, you could try and ‘drop it’ a little quicker this time. Hopefully you can observe yourself going through the wash cycle, forgive whoever needs forgiving (especially yourself) and let it go.

This is the first time that Pluto will not re-enter Capricorn in it’s retrograde . Where ever we thought we were going with the Pluto in Aquarius journey, we’ve arrived.

Mars, oh Mars.

Mars has finished a diabolical extended retrograde,which has seen it spend over six months in Cancer, the sign of its fall.

So many people with strong Mars placements have felt the burn of this retrograde. I spoke about it in depth in my recent podcast here so I won’t go into it again but I do recommend giving that audio a whirl if you haven’t yet. It’s accompanied by an exquisitely soothing sound track of a Sound Journey I played in Northland in April.

Suffice to say, many of us with strong Mars placements can breathe a deep sigh of relief and finally get 2025 underway!

For the short term Mars will travel through the rest of lion hearted Leo and emerge in the calming Earth sign of Virgo around June 17^th.

As a first house Mars in Leo native I’m pretty happy about this! We’re out of shadow today and I’ve been in touch with another Martian this morning who spontaneously confirmed that he too just offered his first breath-work ceremony for the year.
